In this half-hour documentary, three profoundly deaf people, Emily, Jo and John tell us their stories of the day they discovered other Deaf people, a new language, and a new identity. Communicating in British Sign Language, they describe their earliest memories, their school years and the experiences that led them to look for a new community.

Found was commissioned by the British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust, who fund programmes for a deaf audience which are shown on Film4 and the Community Channel. It is screened with subtitles and full voiceover. It was produced and directed by Charlie Swinbourne, a journalist and filmmaker who is himself deaf and grew up in a deaf family.
